United Way of The Potomac Highlands

County United Way,Inc. dba, United Ways of the Potomac HIghlands, is a corporation excluisively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 ( c ) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any future United States Unternal Revenue Laws. 

The organizations serves the counties of Allegany and Garrett in the State of Maryland and the counties Hampshire and Mineral in the State of West Virginia.

The Board of Directors for the United Ways of the Potomac Highlands shall consist of two members from the Executive Committee of each affiliated United Way, the immediate past president, and the chairs of the Administration and Finance and the Endowment committees. Representatives of each affiliated United Way will include the Chairperson and one designee selected by that organization.

The Board of Directors shall have the powers and duties pertaining to the management and control of the organization as may be consistent with these Bylaws and designed to carry out the objectives of this organization.

The management and administration of the affairs of this organization shall be vested in the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is authorized to invest the funds of this organization. The Board of Directors shall require all persons to be bonded who disperse the funds of this organization.
